4 Reasons you should test prep over the summer

 

Summer break is in full swing! By now, you have probably checked off a few things from your summer “to-do list”:

  • Lounge by the pool
  • Hang out with friends
  • Play a “few” hours of video games

As the temperature rises and your summer “to-do list” becomes smaller, you may be wondering what to do next?

 

One thing you may want to consider doing over the next few weeks of summer is taking the time to get ahead of the game when it comes to the SAT or ACT test prep. With your summer check-list dwindling, it is an excellent opportunity to prepare for these exams at a much more relaxed pace where you can really focus on content and the steps necessary for success.

Summer is a great time to test prep for the SAT/ACT because your study plan doesn’t have to compete with classwork. You have three solid months to better understand the exam and what is needed to be successful and you can do it all while not worrying about your high school course load.

During the summer, you have the freedom to work at a much more relaxed and slower pace. It is perfectly normal to feel anxious about an exam like the SAT or ACT. Over the summer, you can take the time to familiarize yourself with the content, build on topics and materials you already know, get clarification on topics that you find confusing, and get familiar with the types of questions on the exam.
